Being able to photograph musicians in their element is one of the highest honors for a music photographer. I am very thankful that I got the opportunity to photograph the worship team for a youth group as witnessing and photographing the beautiful atmosphere they fostered and honored with their voices and talents was absolutely incredible.
The lighting in this environment perfectly lit the subjects on stage so I did not have that many issues in regards to dark subjects. The only issues that I encountered was when the bright lighting would change to something darker during a different song. Having my shutter speed as large as I could have it in relation to the ISO and aperture helped me to successfully capture the different moving figures despite the lighting change. This resulted in not having too many blurry photographs.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed capturing the passion these musicians have for their craft and audience. Being able to see them on the stage, basking in their love for what they do, and capture it all on photographs, was incredible. I hope to use what I learned with this experience in future events, continuing my journey of photographing musicians in their element one photo at a time.
