Happy Birthday to the amazing dancer, performer, rapper, singer, and human that is Jung Hoseok. You inspire many, support your team, and most of all you’ve shown that it’s possible to still keep standing after facing many hardships.
My first introduction to you honestly wasn’t the bright “J-hope” that everyone knew, but the “J-Hope” of Jack In The Box who stripped off the colour and showed his raw self. With that, I was able to see a raw side and relate with you through that introduction.
The person who writes about wanting more, who’s passion burns inside like a flame. The person who reaches a cross point of their life and wonders if he should keep creating or accept where he is and stop. The person who chooses to keep nurturing the flame inside and burns even brighter than before, passion charred on their clothing. This is the person I could totally and wholeheartedly relate to because as an artist myself, there are times when it seems you’ve reached a peak and you could very well just stop.
There are times where you could just accept it and move on. But we are all still learning and there is never a time when one has truly mastered everything. Your songs solidified the feelings inside my heart, the passion for creating art and the satisfaction of your desire to create being satiated. It was wonderful to see and experience such music on the day it was released but it was even better when I revisited it, studied the lyrics of the entire album, and truly saw your whole story connect and relate to it.
Now after getting to know you, and BTS much better I see that both the bright colours “J-Hope” and the “J-Hope” of Jack In The Box are two parts of the same person. Two beautiful sides that complement each other while still maintaining who you are, Jung Hoseok.
And with all this said, if you see this somehow, I truly hope you have an amazing birthday and know that you’ve touched the heart of a girl far across the ocean.
