For day 26 of analyzing a song every day until BTS’ concert in Tampa, I chose “Future” by J-Hope. This song is one of my favorite J-Hope songs as it discusses his thoughts about the future and how we all rustle with thoughts about it.

J-Hope begins addressing this topic by stating that he also needs to have “Courage and Faith,” like everyone else (Refrain). He is not someone who has everything together, instead he struggles as well. Next, he begins to express those worries by singing about how when he was young, he did not really think that much about it. This can be seen in the lines, “I was a kid who only liked dancing” (Verse 1). But when he got older, with his success, the fears for the future grew.

Now, J-Hope is thankful for his success, but he worries about when everything changes as, “Nothing lasts forever” (Verse 1). However, all is not lost. He provides his solution to be stating, “Man, you must go with the flow.” (Chorus). Basically describing that no mater what you have to keep going even when the future seems uncertain.
