For day 28 of analyzing a BTS song every day until their concert in Tampa, I decided to analyze the song, “Scenery” by V of BTS. With smooth and silky vocals, V conveys his desire to capture the environment around him in film, never to be forgotten.

At the beginning of the song, V describes what he looks at as he walks outside. He then will for himself to remember such scenes with the line, “Will it be in me?” (Line 3). When asking this question V is expressing how he wants to remember the beautiful things he looks at; he wants to remember them deep within his heart.

A way V comes up with in order to remember it in such way is through film. I feel that this is the answer V provides the listener as throughout the song, V makes countless references to filmmaking. Lines such as, “Towards this old yellow,” and “Listen to the film,” both explicitly and inexplicitly express those references (Lines 6 and 8). I feel that the first quote can describe filming as it references the yellow tint of old film that captures old memories. In regards to the second quote, V decides to state it clearly that the way in which he wants to capture the world is through his film. It also can describe how the world in of itself is its own film and he is the spectator.

All in all, the song is a beautiful one that describes V’s desire to honor the world and its beauty through film. It also expresses how V admires the world already as if it is its own feature movie. I think this kind of perspective on the world is one that we all should have and honor.
