For day 37 of analyzing a BTS song every day until their concert in Tampa, I chose “Who” by Jimin. This song expresses Jimin’s questioning on who the person that is meant for him is, as its all he can think about. This is an incredibly relatable song as so many people wonder the same thing every day.

Digging deeper, Jimin continuously questions throughout the song who that special person is for him. The interesting thing about this motif of the song, is that Jimin isn’t just questioning who the right person is for him, he is expressing that he knows who it is in his heart and dreams, but still can’t quite grasp it (Lines 1-4). I feel that this is an experience that many people can relate to as sometimes it feels like we know in our hearts who that ‘perfect’ person is for us, however there’s still an uncertainty as we cannot predict the future.

Throughout the song, Jimin expresses this uncertainty that he feels within himself in wanting to grasp something, someone, that felt so real to him in his dreams. Even though this song is about a person, I feel that this can also relate to anything one wants in general. So many people are reaching for dreams that seem so very far away, and continuously wonder when they can reach it or what their dreams really are. However, we don’t need to figure it all out right now. With Jimin’s song, we learn that it’s okay to still question the things that feel so vivid in our hearts.
