For day 38 of analyzing a BTS song every day until BTS’ concert in April, I decided to analyze, “Another Level” by Jin. In this song, Jin expresses his determination to never give up in life, even when things become incredibly hard and confusing. This kind of message in a song is incredibly important and relatable as so many people every day sometimes struggle to keep going and really need a reminder at times. In this song, Jin serves as the listener’s reminder to keep fighting for what they want and to continue to keep going in life, no matter what happens.

To set the stage, Jin begins to tell a mini story. He speaks of a person who is stuck in a dark point of their life, however the story doesn’t end there and the person makes the decision to push forward despite their circumstances. More specifically, he makes an analogy to a maze, comparing one’s dark moments in their life to a maze that they feel trapped in (Lines 2 & 3). Then, he makes the pivotal decision to keep trying to find a way out, no matter what happens; even if he burns, he will make it out to the finish line (Lines 4 & 5). This message is super important as so many people also feel that way; also feel as if they are trapped and stuck. However, it is important that they know and understand that they are not alone and they can make it out. Jin perfectly establishes that message throughout his song and thus, inspires many.

All in all, “Another Level” by Jin truly is that beautiful inspirational song that one should listen to every so often as the lyrics heard throughout the song are so important to hear. I don’t know if this song will be performed in BTS’ upcoming concert however, I do hope it will be as this song is such a powerful one.
