For day 40 of analyzing a BTS song every day until their concert in Tampa, I chose “Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)” by BTS as the song I’ll analyze today. With it’s upbeat sound, the song presents a simply beautiful message about wanting to learn everything about someone and love them fully.

Diving deeper, BTS at the beginning express their desire to know more about the person they love (Verse 1). As the song goes on, the listener realizes that the person BTS wants to know more about is someone who has helped them in the past; someone who has led them to freely soar towards their dreams (Pre-Chorus). Because of this, BTS can love the person freely.

It is hard for someone to love when they are stressed with trying to grasp and pursue something that seems so far away. The pain and struggles of life feel as if they are stronger than one’s dreams and thus, a person gives up on trying to love. If someone comes into that person’s life and saves them, it becomes logical that the person who was saved would begin to love the person who saved them. BTS expresses this subtly within their song by describing that they yearn to love someone who helped them in their dark moments.

All in all, “Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)” by BTS is a fun song that expresses the desire to learn about and love someone freely. As this song is a very iconic BTS song, I have a strong feeling that it might be performed this upcoming April.
