For day 44 of analyzing a BTS song every day until their upcoming concert in Tampa, I chose to analyze, “Daechwita” by Agust D or Suga of BTS. This song in its entirety serves as Agust D’s declaration of enjoying the success he has but not letting it consume him.
Within the song, Agust D confidently proclaims his success while also staying humble. This is seen in Verse 1 when he says, “I’m about to dine on what I know is mine,” basically showing how he confidently knows that he worked very hard to get to the sucessful position he is in and thus, will enjoy it.
But, he doesn’t leave the song there, he then remains humble in Verse 2 by stating, “Yeah, what’s next? Here comes my reality check, there’s nowhere higher / I only looked up and now I want to look down and put my feet on the ground.” In stating this, Agust D is not only stating that he has reached his dreams, but he is going to still remain grounded through it all.
All in all, this song describes how Agust D is both proud of how far he has come in life as well as is still humble and will remain to remember the hard work that it took to get to that point.
