For day 45 of analyzing a BTS song every day until their concert in Tampa, I decided to analyze “Fake Love” by BTS. This song serves as a wakeup call for relationships built on falsities.

Diving deeper, BTS expresses the importance of a relationship that is based on honesty between both parties through singing about the pain that comes when that kind of relationship is not fostered. Through showing one’s true self to the other party, the relationship can grow as no one feels as if they have to put on a face. The stress of not being one’s true self can become overwhelming and thus strain the relationship and the person hiding.

In my opinion, the most beautiful form of love is when one can be honest with the other party and thus, is loved in return. In Fake Love, there is no honesty in that relationship. Instead, BTS sings about how they could not be themselves in the relationship and instead pretended that everything was fine when it was not (Intro). This only weakens a relationship and tires each party out. Therefore it is important to stay true to one’s feelings and try one’s best to enter relationships with people who will honor that.
