For day 50 of analyzing a BTS song every day until their concert in Tampa, I decided to analyze the song, “Not Today” by BTS. This song is a very inspiring song that pushes one to continue living and going after life for just one more day as even though things in the future will fade, the present is sometimes the one thing we are sure of so we must make it count.

BTS addresses this message throughout their song in their lyricism. In particular, Suga of BTS raps in Verse 1 saying, “No, not today, flowers wither eventually / But no, not today, today is not that day,” saying that although in life things will end, it is not right at this moment. We must just try to keep going for today, even when tragedy and the end of one’s life will occur at some point. This is because if we keep going for just one day, and we are then granted just one day after that, we will realize that we have actually gone on for much longer. It was that little step in continuing for one day that may then add up to even more.

All in all, this song is an incredibly inspiring one that hopes to boldly comfort those who fear the future by taking it one step at a time. I do hope this song is performed in BTS’ upcoming concert as its message is a necessary one that should be heard across the world.
