For day 51 of analyzing a song every day until BTS’ concert in Tampa, I decided to analyze Jimin’s song, “Like Crazy (English Version).” This song is a look into the real effects of deep sadness and wanting to drown one’s sorrows due to it. Jimin brings a candid view onto the issue of drinking to forget through descriptive metaphors and imagery.

In the lyrics, there are countless references to drinking through metaphors and blatant language. With the lyrics, “Now, I sink down… / A dark haze clouding up my eyes,” he describes the effects of drinking without explicitly stating that he was drinking. This honest expression of his actions helps the listener to understand the sad tone in the rest of the song.
