For day 55 of analyzing a BTS song every day until their concert in April, I decided to analyze the song, “Moving On” by BTS. This song describes the end of something as well as the beginning of something new; a message that many can relate to.

Throughout the song, BTS describes their old memories in their old place that they started out in. With many details such as describing how, “The wallpaper, bathroom, and veranda were all blue…/As much as the place was small, we were bound together tighter,” (Verse 1 and 2). When one hears these lyrics, it is easy to relate them to their own life experience of leaving a place they once knew. For me, I listened to this song and connected it to graduating from high school and entering college. Even though the song does not specifically reference that, the lyrics are symbolic to leaving one chapter and entering another.

In life, we can’t stay at one place our whole lives. Things change, people move on, and time still flows. We must accept those changes but still not loose ourselves. We grow, but our essence stays the same. Throughout reading all of BTS’ song lyrics so far, I can see how much they have changed and grown as people. However, their ambition to continue to chase after life and the different things they love throughout the years has not. It is with these thoughts that I find the song, “Moving on,” so beautiful as even though it was written in 2015, its meaning will forever be relevant.
