For day 59 of analyzing a BTS song every day until their concert in April, I decided to analyze the song, “Hold Me Tight,” by BTS. This song beautifully describes one’s intense yearning for someone despite the feeling as if their relationship is nearing its end.

Looking closer, since this song is a part of BTS’ “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life” album series, BTS is most likely commentating on the aspect of youth where one is in a relationship that seems as if it is going to end however they want to continue loving that person for as long as possible; they are hopelessly in love. This kind of narrative is seen in lines such as, “Our breakup pulls toward me like high tide / I know it’ll soon be our last but I can’t let you go” (Bridge). This line expresses the desperation that the subject of the song has for the person that they love. The beauty about this is that this kind of desperate feeling is something that is so common in one’s youth. Those emotions during that time seem to be so incredibly intense, it’s as if nothing else can do. BTS masterfully captures that scenery and feeling within these lyrics and within the song, painting a picture that many can relate to.
