For day 68 of analyzing a BTS song every day until their concert in April, I decided to analyze the song, “134340” by BTS. This song utilizes the removal of Pluto from the solar system and it’s replacement with a numerical code as a metaphor for when someone was replaced by someone else and thus feels irrelevant and forgotten.

Diving deeper, this narrative can be seen within verse 2 where RM describes that, similarly to Pluto, he orbited that special person he loved, and still does, however things have changed and he has been forgotten. This feeling of being forgotten is something that many have experienced in their life in relationships. It is a sad, dark, feeling when someone you loved so much forgot and abandoned you. I find it truly genius to compare these emotions to Pluto being removed from the solar system; a planet once loved and then forgotten as soon as others deemed it was not special enough to be in the solar system.
