For day 76 of analyzing a BTS song every day until their concert in April, I decided to analyze the song, “Best of Me” by BTS. This song is one that expresses how someone has saved BTS in their darkest moments and that BTS does not want to show any other side to them but their best after they saved them. It is a complex song with quite a few undertones however the biggest one of them all is wanting to be perfect in front of the person who helped you so much and who you value a lot.
This narrative can be seen in the lines, “You’re like the whole world to me /
So hold me tighter, even if it hurts,” from verse 1. It is in these lines that BTS describes how they never want that special person for them to leave them so they wish to continue holding on to them and have them hold onto them even if it is painful. This can possibly express how in life a person who can hold on to you through thick and thin, in hard times and triumphs, is someone who one should keep close for life. BTS expresses that they have found that person and want them to stay with them for a long time.
