I’ve always been intrigued with watching the news from I was about 7 years old. Unfortunately, there’s always something sad being reported. That all changed when I met Mr. Bobby Lewis. There was something different about him. I later realized we had something in common: our faith.
The first time I met Mr. Bobby I was 8 years old and he did a story on me. I liked watching, “On The Road”, because his news was “good news”. He focused on amazing people doing amazing things in our area and it was very interesting to watch. After filming the photoshoot I hosted for little girls and their dolls, we went outside to talk.
It was a beautiful, bright cool day. We stood outside by the water and he asked me questions about my photography business and my dreams. I shared with Mr. Bobby that my dream was to photograph the President of the United States. I don’t think he believed me at the time, but the fact that he still aired my story and helped me to get the word out, helped my dream to come true. Up until that point, I met a lot of adults who thought I was this cute kid with a camera and they didn’t take me seriously. Although, he may have doubted that my dream would come true, Mr. Bobby always showed me respect and encouraged me to never give up! When he took this photo of me and added President Barack Obama to my lens, it made me so happy! It was a great visual.
Well, most of you know my story. My dream did come true! When I returned from Washington, D.C., Mr. Bobby shared my “good news” with the Tampa Bay Area!
Well guess what? It’s two years later and my friend, Mr. Bobby wrote a book. It’s his first book. He’s not just an Emmy Award Winning a news reporter, now he’s also an author. The “good news” is, he featured me in the first chapter of his book in the “Ambition” chapter. WOW! That’s soooo cool. Here’s a photo of my autographed copy:
Tonight my family and I attended Mr. Bobby’s first book signing. It was a great experience. I was so excited when he gave me my very own copy of the book. You can get your copy HERE!
This is my favorite part of the book. The photo my mom captured of Mr. Bobby and me holding the photo I took of President Barack Obama.
Here’s the famous photo:
Congratulations Mr. Bobby. I am so proud of you and I am so honored that you would include me. I look forward to working with you. Maybe one day, we’ll have our own TV show! Until then, keep telling the good news and sharing God’s love with the world.
