For day 69 of analyzing a BTS song every day until their concert in April, I decided to analyze the song, “Anpanman” by BTS. This song describes the feeling of giving so much while loosing parts of yourself in the process.

This meaning can be seen immediately in the song title as “Anpanman” is an old cartoon based off of a hero who was made out of bread and would take pieces of himself to feed others. With this kind of imagery, BTS paints a picture of trying to help people even though it takes a toll on them (Verse 2). This is a situation that one can see often in life, trying to help everyone and yet struggling while doing so. It is important to find that balance between helping others and also not loosing yourself. BTS takes that and runs with it, remembering that they are still learning and growing and have their own fears however they still want to help and will try to help anyways (Chorus).
